Troop 93, in conjunction with the American Legion of WC, on May 22nd, we will be placing flags on veterans’ graves in four West Chester area cemeteries.  This way the flags are in place for Memorial Day on May 31st. We will meet at 830am, at Birmingham Cemetery (1235 Birmingham Road) and should be done before noon.

Troop 93 has extended an invitation to Pack 110.

Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Memorial Day 2021 will occur on Monday, May 31.

Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades. Unofficially, it marks the beginning of the summer season. Boalsburg, PA (near State College) is one of a few towns in the U.S. that claims to have started the tradition.

Those that are interested should contact Mark Pontzer prior to the 22nd.  MarkPontzer@nullgmail.com
