DESCRIPTION:The 2017 Pinewood Derby is quickly approaching (January 20th\, 2017) so it’s time to get those cars built.  If you still need your Pinewood Derby Kit\, please contact Mr. Comolli. \nHere are a few tips & reminders:\nPlease review the official rules as this will make the check-in which starts at 6:00 and closes at 6:45 go much smother – Pinewood Derby Rules & Tips. Scout cars must weigh no more than 5oz. fully constructed. \nIn addition to awards for the fastest cars\, awards will be given for the following other categories: \nCubs Choice\, Judges Choice\, Most Original\, Best Cub-Scout Theme\, Most Aerodynamic\, Most Patriotic \nSiblings and adults are welcomed and encouraged to build their own Pinewood Derby Cars for a special Open Races. Adult and sibling cars must fit the track dimensions as stated in the rules\, but may exceed the weight limit up to 10oz. The car must be made from the official pinewood derby kit block and have 3/8″ clearance so that it will run down the track\, almost anything else goes. \nMore information can be found on the Pinewood Derby Flyer and if you are looking for inspiration\, check out Boy’s Life’s 100 awesome pinewood derby cars of 2016. \nHungry?
